Rhinoplasty is one of the most sought-after plastic surgeries in Brazil, and in some cases, there is a need for a procedure known as secondary rhinoplasty.
Secondary rhinoplasty is the procedure that aims to address issues that were not resolved in the initial surgery, such as shape, size, proportionality, and even functional issues like impaired breathing.
Accidents, surgical errors, and lack of postoperative care are possible factors that negatively impact the outcome of the initial procedure. Secondary rhinoplasty seeks to enhance and/or refine the initial procedure.
It is a delicate procedure, considering that the internal and external structures of the nose have already been modified, making the surgery more complex and time-consuming. In some cases, due to a lack of tissue and structure, the surgeon may need to remove cartilage and/or small skin grafts from other body regions for a better result.
Remember, in these cases, there needs to be a high level of transparency between the doctor and the patient since it is a complex procedure.
